Issue

User extension is stuck on the "Not registered" status, despite being logged in to their 3CX extension.

Solution

A common cause of this problem is that the browser is blocking notifications, which 3CX relies on to maintain the extension’s registration status.

To resolve this, ensure that notifications are allowed in your browser. Enabling notifications will ensure the 3CX extension stays properly registered and can send/receive calls without interruption.

After allowing notifications, the extension status should update and reflect as "Registered."

Steps

In Google Chrome:

1. Open Google Chrome.

2. At the top right, click More > Settings.

3. At the bottom of the page, click Advanced.

4. Click Privacy and security > Site Settings > Notifications.

5. Next to “Allowed to send notifications,” click Add.

6. Enter the organization's 3CX URL (e.g. https://djc.3cx.com.au:5001/).

7. Click Add

In Microsoft Edge:

1. Open Microsoft Edge.

2. At the top right, click on the ellipsis to open Settings and more.

3. Select Settings > Cookies and site permissions and select Notifications.

4. Next to "Allow", click Add.

5. Enter the organization's 3CX URL (e.g https://djc.3cx.com.au:5001/).

6. Click Add

Testing

After applying the solution, check if the extension status has changed from "Not registered." This should happen almost immediately.

Test both inbound and outbound calls to confirm the issue is resolved
